Kids Carpentry Supplies is the number one supplier of children’s carpentry equipment in NZ.
We have been specialising in supplying preschools and primary schools around New Zealand with carpentry resources since 2007.
We have certainly learnt A LOT over that time and I am proud to be able to offer the early childhood sector with quality, time tested equipment that is sourced and designed especially for your children’s small hands.
We have done the hard work for you so that you can relax, knowing that the equipment we supply is the best available for your children.
We love saving you time and money! Our products have been time tested in early childhood centres across NZ. We’ve taken the guesswork out of ensuring you have the most suitable and safest options for young hands and inquisitive minds. We have done the
research so that you can relax and trust us as your one stop carpentry shop!
Carpentry provides a unique experience for children that encompasses all aspects of learning and development.
As part of a broad and rich curriculum carpentry is a wonderful activity that children really enjoy and become fully engaged in.
Carpentry truly is learning through play.
Your wood is the best! The wood is nice and small and comes in various shapes, we’ve made robots, bird houses, christmas tree’s and abstract art with the wood. Thank you so much for the service too, excellent.
Our Wood
Is Safe: We guarantee that our wood is free from any dangerous contaminants such as paint, treatment chemicals, nails or other nasties.
Our wood has been personally and carefully hand picked direct from the sawmill source, ensuring that the product you receive is safe for your children.
In the past you may have asked for wood donations from families or building companies. Please bear in mind that donated wood will usually be recycled or from home renovations. Can you guarantee it is safe for your kids?
Is Not Treated: Our New Zealand timber is organic and untreated. It is safe for children to handle, cut, and sand.
Is Interesting: Each sack of wood contains a variety of sizes, shapes, and textures to provide an interesting sensory experience for your tamariki. The natural wood is a beautiful invitation to creative open ended exploration either at the carpentry table, as free form building blocks or in imaginative play.
Is Versatile: Our wood is compatible with other craft materials commonly used in early childhood centres and schools such as PVA glue, hot glue, paint, dyes etc. It is a wonderful medium for all sorts of creative projects.
Is Delivered In Bulk: Our wood is delivered directly to your centre or school in a large sack weighing approximately 15 kg and holding at least 100 pieces of wood.
Saves You Time: No more wasting your precious time searching high and low or asking far and wide for wood off-cuts! We provide craft wood year round and deliver to your door NZ wide.
We even offer a subscription style service where we will automatically deliver wood to you every month, term etc. without you even having to think about it.
Our Kit-Sets: We also stock a range of children’s kit-set carpentry projects. Where the sacks of wood provide opportunities for creative play, our kit-sets provide opportunity for goal-oriented projects that involves following instructions and co-operation within a group. They are great projects to make for you classroom as a team.
Our Tools and Carpentry Accessories
Our tamariki are thoroughly enjoying the new carpentry resources. They are being well used and we are having some great items being created. Lots of skills being put to the test and a lot of new skills are being learnt.
Ngā mihi nui,
Along with our wood, we offer a wide range of woodworking tools and safety equipment that are especially designed for children’s small hands.
We also stock nails, screws, wheels, safety gear, tool belts and other fun accessories to really bring your carpentry area alive!
Real Tools: Through using real tools children develop a sense of confidence and mana within themselves. Being trusted to use real tools gives children a sense of responsibility encouraging them to take calculated risks, assess their ability to use the tools safely and respect the rules of their kaiako.
Safety Equipment: Child sized safety glasses and ear muffs to protect those precious eyes and ears are essential to your carpentry area. Teaching children to take responsibility for their own health and well being is so much easier when you have safety gear that is comfortable and easy to wear.
Exploration And Role Play: Our carpentry themed accessories create wonderful opportunities for imaginative role play and creative exploration both at the carpentry table and in other areas of your centre.
